Limewire for Linspire Does anyone have a really easy way to install Limewire on Linspire? I'm not even sure whether the Linux or 'other' version would give me the least grief. Incidentally, if anyone's going to attempt to explain to me how to do this then please, pretend I'm a small child. No, in fact, pretend I'm small turd. That will probably work best. |

Pay $50. That's your solution? Limewire gives their software away free to everyone, but I have to pay fifty bucks for it? Perhaps I wasn't making myself clear, because I know there are lots of helpful people on these boards and it's those people I'm reaching out to. What I'd really like to know is, of the free basic versions of Limewire, which is easiest to install, the linux version or the 'other' version, and how does one go about doing that? |
I didn't know you had to pay... Click and Run is a Linspire service.... Donwload the other version (if you already have java installed) then go in terminal: type the directory where the limewire folder is located ie: cd /users/cmt/desktop/limewire hit enter then type sh runlime.sh hit enter LW will start you could alternativly double click on limewire.jar, it should do the same if your linux associated .jar to java Bonne chance |
Java Thanks for your help. This doesn't sound too hard, only I don't have Java installed. I had a look at the installation instructions for the latest JRE, and there isn't anything about Linspire, so how would I go about installing what they offer? It seems that getting Java is critical to getting a lot of Linspire stuff, so I'd really appreciate some pointers. |
did u try to download limewire in the original website www.limewire.com |
