newbie libGLcore.so.1 help Hey everyone. While unpacking the Qtella RPM for my SuSe 8.0 box, I get a message stating that I need libGLcore.so.1. But after much searching online (rpmfind, etc..) I haven't been able to find the lib file to download. If anyone could point me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it. TIA, colin. |
download the tar.gz tar -xzvf filename cd to folder ./configure make install be happy RPM's have a lot of stupid problems. |
> I get a message stating that I need libGLcore.so.1. Make sure you don't already have it. su root ldconfig -p|grep libGLcore. Check the symlinks. > But after much searching online Never used Suse, but perhaps: ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/8.0/suse/x3d1/ Run those through rpmfind to see what's inside. > RPM's have a lot of stupid problems tarballs are unmaintainable. Source RPMS seem to be the solution. |
Well, I installed the RPM simply by not checking for dependencies. libGLcore.so.1 is apparently a library used for NVIDIA gfx cards. I don't have one of those in my system. Why it needs that is a puzzle to me, so I ignored it *shrugs* |
I'm current running Mandrake 8.2 right off the downloaded ISO. I first attempted to install the .rpm as well. No luck. It whined about libGLcore. Not be to deterred, I downloaded the latest source .. ./configure make make install and .. Viola! Qtella runs like a scalded dog! :) |
