Can't connect but....

I also have a redhat linux and can't connect. My question is that i can connect with gtk-gnutella but not with QTella!!!!!!!!
I know that a default firewall on redhat is installed!!!!!! is it possible it causes problems ...
I'm on a network from a school and it has a firewall and doesn't cause problems with gtk-gnutella......
