Regular crashes

Hi all.
I just started using Qtella... it seems like a very nice prog.
However, it crashes regularly for me, and I cant find why.
I'm running Mandrake 8.2 (it did the same on 8.1) using the mandrake packages, and also compiled from source.
Is there a way I can run Qtella in debug so I can give you some more info on the crash?

Cheers,
hybrid

It seems that Qtella runs on Mandrake systems very unstable. I haven't found the problem yet but on other system (SuSE, RH) Qtella runs for days and weeks.

Maybe it runs more stable when you run it as root (I know that's not a solution but it would be nice if you could test it) or try to build Qtella without KDE support with "./configure --with-kde=no".

By default debug flag should be set but you can set it with "./configure --enable-debug" explicitly. The additional option "--enable-qdebug" writes a lot of output to standard out. Maybe this could be useful, too.

Regards,
Daniel

I will try some of these over the next couple of days.
I notice there is a new version, so I will uninstall the package and compile the new source with lots of debug and see how that goes.
I will let you know what I find.

Well... there doesnt seem to be an error?
I run from console with --nocrashhandler so that I get some output... and this is the last few lines I get...

Connections: ok checkServants
Connections: check 6
Connections: switch 0
Connections: switch 1
Connections: switch 2
Connections: switch 3
Connections: switch 4
Connections: switch 5
Connections: check close and error
Connections: ok checkServants

That happens the whole time the prog is running, so I dont think thats a problem.

The prog just closes down with no apparent error? Weird.

It's possible that I have found the bug. Check the next release 0.5.1 which is coming this weekend.

I just started running the new version.
I will let you know how it runs.
I'll leave it going overnight, and if its still running in the morning, I would say you have fixed the bug, as it has never made it to morning previously :)
