Maximum File Sizes

I run QTella 0.4.2. I wish to share some MPEG-2 video streams that are greater than 2GB in size., as well as some accompanying AC3 (Dolby Digital soundtrack) files that are less than 1GB in size.

When these files files are shared, the AC3 files are listed in the"Shared Files" panel, but the MPEG-2 video ( with a .m2v extension) streams are not. Why is this?

With Qtella you can share files of any type and size. I have never tested it with files with a size greater than 2GB.
Which OS allows you to have files being greater than 2GB?

I use RedHat Linux 7.1, with the kernel upgraded to 2.4.18. KDE 2.2.x reports the files as having the wrong size (this is caused by the 2GB wrap-around), but ls reports the correct size of a 6.6GB file.
