Thanks KayaMan !!!

I installed build 372 right on top of 359 and it worked like a charm.

Didn't see any problems at all on the install.

XoloX 372 It Works!!!

You did it!!! After trying three previous versions, 369,CNET, 369XoloX and 359 XoloX finally this new one version #372 works. Completely uninstalled the previous versions, including the registry key and then did a clean install of the new version 372 and it has been running with no problems ever since, at least an hour now...........Hurray:D

Thank You,
AUM

woo hoo great to hear,
FYI.. we confirmed the file was corrupt coming from CNET ( build369). In comparing the files in hex workshop one of the programmers found a slight change(1 byte) from the one coming from CNET - that's all it takes to spit out the install and startup errors on some machines.

AUM
re: 359 not working for you, well that's why 369 was sposed to be the public release version... so it's understandable there be errors on that one.

CNET should be updated later today with a b375.

thanks for all the feedback.

I can't download the new version build 372. I get "The page cannot be found" with the link in the text file you posted.

I have windXP professional and I still get an error report when trying to download....even when I use your 372.

Unregistered October 7th, 2002 03:20 PM

Kayaman's response above this one says that 375 will be the production version when CNet updates it....and that was in April02....it is October and I haven't seen any changes 359, 372, 375(?), i.e. I still can't get the stupid thing to work!!! error report error report error report....................................

Can't please everyone *shrug* . It's still a work in progress. Try Gnucleus if you absolutely can't get xolox to work.

HELP - I CAN'T CONNECT!

I've been using XoloX since the version which came before 1.21, (tried the 1.21 also). Now I'm up to version 1.31 build 379, before 1.31 XoloX ran smoothly on my Windows ME, IE 6 (SP1), ZoneAlarmPro, Norton AV 2003. I connect to the internet through Verizon Online DSL (adsl)/WinPPPoverEthernet ver.2/build 20010104 & my Intel PRO/100 VE (PROSet II) Desktop Connection. Before installing 1.31/#379 I uninstalled all previous versions, deleted the XoloX registry key AND all progem files which had been left behind by previous versions, rebooted THEN installed. Here are the errors I've been receiving:
1.) On start-up, instead of saying "Connecting to the Gnutella Network" (or whatever it used to say...) on the bottom of the main XoloX window it says: "Can't connect to port #6346" which then turns into "Working offline". See here:
http://groups.msn.com/vze3dbwg/Documents/port.bmp
and here:
http://groups.msn.com/vze3dbwg/Documents/offline.bmp
2.) About once or twice (hasn't happened in a while) an Internet Explorer Script Error window pops up with this weird error message, this is what it looks like: http://groups.msn.com/vze3dbwg/Documents/ads.bmp
3.) Finally, giving up - I exit from the program to get the following two error boxes (oddly, the first of these pops-up twice-go figure!). Check out #1 here:
http://groups.msn.com/vze3dbwg/Documents/error%201.bmp
and #2 here:
http://groups.msn.com/vze3dbwg/Documents/error%202.bmp
I also have iMesh (which works even with all the spyware, hijackware removed-thank you Ad-Aware!). And yes, I've given XoloX full server permission through the firewall, although I do use the ZoneAlarm Pro to disable web-bugs & block all the ads it can. Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.

yours truly,

vilma76 ;)

ps: what's up with all the advertising guys? not cool man, totally NOT cool!

If you are running another program that is using that port (another Gnutella sevent for instance) then Xolox can not use it. Additionally if you have that port closed on you firewall and/or router then Xolox will not be able to use it either.
