Shareaza 2.0.2.0 beta
 

Hey all!

Since Shareaza went open source with version 2.0.0.0, a lot has happened, and finally there's now a new beta that can be recommended to be installed.

The full change log and other information can be found on this thread of the Shareaza forums. A lot has been changed and among the most important changes is the fix for the eDonkey2000 protocol. Version 2.0.0.0 and older won't fully work with new eDonkey2000 server software, 2.0.2.0 works fine. Hashing was assembler-optimized and now runs much much faster, and new BitTorrent settings allow better control. Also we have a new installer and hope that it works fine. You can now make a multi-user install if you want, which keeps settings and data seperate for each user. If do a multi-user install, I strongly recommend to uninstall previous versions. Remember that this is still a beta, backing up data might be a good idea. This beta aims to go toward a new 2.1.0.0 release.

Note: Don't use version 2.0.1.0, it has been found to cause too much troubles. Unshare it if you have it.

2.0.3.0 beta
 

Life goes on, bugs get fixed, features get added and a new beta is out now! As I said above, 2.0.1.0 was rather buggy, 2.0.2.0 was much better but still had a few problems. And now comes 2.0.3.0 that promises to be much better than the last two betas. Hopefully, this will be the last beta before the new 2.1.0.0 release! So stay tuned, it possible won't even take long for it to come out.

Anyone that has already upgraded to any beta or alpha newer than 2.0.0.0 is advised to upgrade to this beta.

I don't know the list of changes by heart, anyone interested in a detailed list, can check the Shareaza Forums. It at least includes the following: Many bug fixes, tweaks and cleanups, many improvements of BitTorrent, new trust scheme for hashs, fixes for WinXP SP2, download sorting and source sorting (needs to be enabled first in the settings), new skins, new languages, much more...
