see if you can help me

I just recently downloaded shareaza v2.1 and it seems pretty nice except for almost all downloads they just become pending in the transfers screen. I have only gotten one song to actually fully downoad. A few have started but they stop and become pending quickly. I have no idea why the one worked when most dont or if this is normal or how to solve it so an help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you firewalled or behind router? If yes it would be much better to open ports (firewall) of the connected networks or/and do port forwarding (router). If no, I guess I should suggest alternatives, despite this being the shareaza forum:

MP3s sub 200megs files or well spread files: Limewire or Bearshare lite
Recent apps or movies: Bittorrent or Azureus
Old movies and apps: Edonkey2000 or eMule

Remember that a multinet client like shareaza is worse on each network taken separate than native solutions.

Bonne chance

You might want to try out my new Shareaza Connection Test. It will tell you if your firewall or router is set up properly.

If you need more help (for example configuring your router/firewall), maybe it would be a good idea to search the Shareaza forums, there are many interesting threads that might be helpful. Also there's the Shareaza Wiki which can be of great help as well.

In my opinion, Shareaza is a good client. :)

I don“t know which version do you use if you only find "old" movies and applications?

The newest Morg, the newest :D I use Bittorrent to get the latest stuff in a very fast manner, so ED2K is used only to get "old" stuff.

I tested BT and I wasn“t very impressed... so you are using ED2K only for "old" things which doesn“t mean that you can“t download new things there... I downloaded all my new and old things there and I can“t complain about speed or anything else.

My two european cents,

I beat you again. :p

Morg, for your two euro cents, I'll give you one thing, Bittorrent is lacking search support compared to ED2K. So ED2K is more complete and more convenient to use.

Ciao
