Sharaza will not connect

I reformatted my PC not too long ago and luckily enough i still had sharaza version 2.2 so i could reinstall it. I like the older version better. Well now it will not connect to any of the networks. I do not have a firewall on or anything and it is not giving me any kind of warning. I did the connection test and it is saying that everything is fine. I dont know if there should be different settings other than the defaults just to get it to connect but i have never had this problem before. The most i have had, is the firewall issue with SP2 but i fixed that. now i am still running xp pro sp2. any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Hi :)

Try the Wiki.. but my best guess is that you lost your host cache... hit F9 and Query one of the GWebCaches (Right-Click- Query).

You can check in F8 if you have any resulting hosts from that query, when you have hosts, it's best to disconnect and reconnect again :)

Howdy, your main problem is that you are using a old version of Shareaza, and all of your discovery services are dead. What ever you do, DO NOT DO a check for UPDATE from that old version of Shareaza, it will connect you to the old web site that was taken over by another company!!
if you want to get the latest version go to, Shareaza's new web site. If you want to go to the new Shareaza forum, go to new Shareaza forum
If you are using Shareaza 2.2.0.0, that was a version that was hard on the ED2K network and was black listed on there. You need at least 2.2.1.0 if I remember right.

Ok here is what you need to do to fix your discovery services. As Kath said hit F9 to open up your discovery services, what you are going to do is add some good services. Right click in the window and go down to add services, left click on it. A window will open up where you can put in a address and select what type of service it is. First address is Bazooka GWC (0.3.6 Beta) this is a GWebCache. That will get you connected to G2. The next address is uhc:yang.cloud.bishopston.net:33558 this is a bootstrap service, this will get you connected to G1. last is http://www.gruk.org/server.met this is a server.met that is a list of the ED2K servers.
Just as soon as you can connect you need to go to Shareaza Security Centre and get a copy of the latest security file and install it. This should get you up and running.
Take care,

One last thing, once you have added these services to the discovery services, you should right click on them and query them. That should add working hosts to your hosts cache. If you still have questions go to the Shareaza Forum
