Unhappy Something about a required .DLL file...

When I tried to install Limewire, an error popped up saying "A required .DLL file, USERENV.DLL, was not found." I'm not sure if any of you can help me or not, but I'd appreciate it if you could... to be honest, I have no idea what this means or how to fix it. Thanks in advance.

Default Missing DLLs

ProvWolf

I take it you are running windows on your PC, so if this is true then one of the dll's (dynamic linked library) has either been damaged, accidentally deleted or has become corrupt.

Anyway, I do the following when a dll goes missing from my PC.

Go to http://www.dll-files.com, search for, download and install your missing dll.

Thanks for the help, but I downloaded the file and now when I try to install LimeWire, an error comes up that says "The USERENV.DLL file is linked to missing export NT.DLL:RtlDosPathNameToNtPathName_U." Is there any way to fix this?

2 questions have you done a virus scan recently if not I recommend you do a boot scan. And is you copy of Windows a free version or a paid for version. It is possible your install of windows is corrupt If you have the original paid for Windows disk you can boot from disk and repair windows.

Default Just a very small PS

Guys

Windows is such a massive "animal" that sometimes on installation a dll goes missing, is immediately corrupted or becomes damaged in some way. And I have found, in the past, that re-installing windows does not always cure the problem.

However, I am talking about a legitamate copy of windows.

Well, thanks for the help you two. I'm going to go ahead and attempt to reinstall Windows sometime soon and hope that it fixes the problem.

Default omg im smarter then everyone else and i just got here!

you dont have to frikin reinstall windows, or get the actuall .dll file anywhere! thats not the problem. This mostly happens with ppl still running win98. All you need is to dl the limewire larger back up. This really is the fix for just about everything....read ppl...if this doesnt fix ur problem, then ur lying cuz its %100 fulproof for this problem.

ps. reinstalling windows shouldn't fix this, but if it does let me know!

Post The second coming

Grandpa

You and I both know that our solutions have worked for us in the past, if this new (false) Messiah has another solution then so much the better. However, the fact that he thinks he's a genius, regardless of the little detail that he can't spell, just shows that he thinks more of himself than anybody else does.

Then to go onto say: "if my solutions doesn't work then you are lying", what a modest genius.

Mr Gays

I have used Win 3.11, WfWG 3.11, Wi***, Win 98SE, Millennium and now WinXP and can say, without any doubt, that since Win 95 I have had to download and install missing dlls.

Now go away and bask in your own glory.
