![]() I had a problem disconnecting my internet connection after exitting Limewire 3.8.5 or 3.9(beta). As a result, XP would then not shut down properly. According to Zone Alarm, javaw.exe is the file which requests internet/server connections for Limewire. I did the following things: 1) Uninstall LimeWire 3.8, reboot. 2) Install Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2_03 (the latest one from Sun's website)... Reboot. 3) Copy java.exe 4) I then installed LimeWire 3.6.15 (coz i had no problems with it). 5) Everything seems stable at the moment. If this doesn't work, try step (3) again, replacing the system32\javaw.exe file. Any feedback would great. |

![]() Got another solution for the above, coz it didn't work after I posted the thing. sorry for that. The disconnection problem which causes XP to hang - Expand "USB Controller" list under "Device Manager" - Double click on USB root hub (u'll know which one is for the USB modem coz the peripherals it powers are listed) - Under power management tab, untick "Allow computer to turn off ..." - Exit that widow - Scroll up on the "Device manager" list to "Network Adapters" - Click to expand list - Under power management tab, untick "Allow computer to turn off ..." - Reboot Hopefully this will work |

![]() the reason you see this with LW mostly is that a p2p client has to actively maintain so many internet connections, unlike the few needed for email or Web browsing. usb problem, eh! Thanks for letting everyone know about the fix. |
