Did you try to uninstall LW thru add/remove programs? That's the wrong way. To uninstall, go start > all programs > LimeWire & use the uninstall option there. Installing a new version of LW & then uninstalling the correct way can fix things but...
if that startup error keeps popping up all the time, you might have a worm. When LW was installed, was it popping up all the time & refusing to stay closed? If that was the case it's a worm.
Try the easy fix mentioned at the end of point 2 here, it's worked for a lot of people. WARNING: Viruses on the network you should be aware of

Always make sure that you're using a good AV program. Keep it updated & use it to scan files that you've downloaded before you open them. |
