How to up-load video to i-Tunes then to iPod

I can get my videos to transfer to iTunes, but now they won't upload to the iPod? Can anyone help?!

This is new territory! Can you load other videos and are they the same file type? Does iTunes give an error message when you try to load onto iPod and does audio load ok? Are you on Windows or Mac? I don't know a lot about the Video iPod, but I'm sure yours won't be the only such questions.

The files are mpeg, and mpg. And I am on windows.. And I can get the audio files just fine.. its just the video thats having the problem going to the ipod. I get an error messege saying the file can not play on this ipod.. when it is the new ipod that can play videos. Now I think I may have to change the format.. it I can.. I don't know.

Someone suggested to me it needs to be AVI format. But I just tested it .. & the only ones to import were mpg music videos.

iPod H.264 video format. and mpeg 4 seem to be the preferred formats for the ipod although it seems other ones will go onto iTunes. I am not keen to get iTunes 6 as Daughters mini iPod at last works .. just ..... with iTunes 5 and I don't want to break the string of good luck. so I'll let you mess with iTunes 6 LOTR

Sorry I was talking about iTunes 6, but if you have the video compatible iPod with the latest software then this should also apply. For iTunes I got the following as below example

Do you think apple would tell us how to do this? I would think they would not because they would want you to buy the videos from them. I was on download.com to see if they had software to do it, I think they do, but I don't understand the web-site and how to get it, if I am even looking at the right thing. All the ones I imported were mpeg. But I'm experimenting for iTunes rather than iPod! But apparently there's several formats that can be used (excluding most if not all avi.)

I was able to get one video in itunes but not yet on my ipod. Also I spent $30 last night on software that is supposed to change the format for your ipod "videora ipod converter" and I can't figure it out. So I can still use HELP. It is appreciated. Also, I wanted to download from Limewire, but I don't know how to convert them from there either.

Neither Only A Hobo or I have a visual iPod. Mine's a shuffle, my partner's a larger one but still no visual. It might be an idea if you ask on the iTunes/iPod forum & then post back about their responses so it can help others who have the same query. As I suggested earlier, all my video clips were mpg's. At least a few of those were supposed to be mpeg1 according to one program utility but I have doubts. But apparently iPod is a little more fussy than iTunes from what I can gather from the links I read from OAH.

Ah I did find this thread http://forums.ipodlounge.com/showthr...hreadid=128658 which suggests there's already lots of threads about the topic. So follow the smell of importing videos on their forum.

Download and use Videora iPod Convertor. It's a different program than Videora (and removes most of the options that are currently confusing you with Videora).

Note that Videora iPod Convertor is a 3rd party program. If you need help with it, post your question there.

I have the 5th. Gen. of Ipod (Music/Video/Photo) and using Nero Recode was able to install in Ipod via Itunes to play.

Works great. Quality and Sound perfect. No need to purchase if you have Nero.

If you have your Ipod plugged in via Itunes then drag and drop the video in to Itunes and this should transfer to your Ipod. I did try this method and it worked fine. Used Nero Recode to convert to Nero Digital.
