tompa94501 Perhaps you're right. But you are using firewall devices which depending on brand/model may affect things. 1. For common firewalls such as XP's firewall instructions to allow both LW & Java full access can be found here: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml with more links at bottom of page.

2. Your modem & possibly your net adapter use NAT firewalls. This blocks a high no. of ports. You can open one just to allow LW full (instead of partial access.) This process is known as port forwarding. And you will need to open Port 6346 b/c that's what LW uses. I'm not sure which variation of model applies to you so you can decide for yourself.
