To aid helpers in solving download/upload problems, LimeWire and Frostwire users must specify whether they are downloading a torrent file or a file from the Gnutella network. Members need to supply these details >>> System details - help us to help you (click on blue link) Moderators There are senior members on the forums who serve as Moderators. These volunteers keep the board organized and moving. Moderators are authorized to: (in order of increasing severity) Move posts to the correct forums. Many times, members post in the wrong forum. These off-topic posts may impede the normal operation of the forum. Edit posts. Moderators will edit posts that are offensive or break any of the House Rules. Delete posts. Posts that cannot be edited to comply with the House Rules will be deleted. Restrict members. This is one of the last punishments before a member is banned. Restrictions may include placing all new posts in a moderation queue or temporarily banning the offender. Ban members. The most severe punishment. Attempts to set up dual accounts will most likely result in a banning of all forum accounts. 14. Video links may only be posted after you have a tally of two forum posts. Failure to show that you have read the forum rules may result in forum rules breach infraction points or warnings awarded against you which may later total up to an automatic temporary or permanent ban. Supplying system details is a prerequisite in most cases, particularly with connection or installation issues.  Slow downloads and stupid firewalls. I understand many of the same topics have been posted already, but I've been browsing for over an hour and still found direct answer to my problem (maybe I'm just lazy to read everything). Recently, my Limewire has been having SUPER slow download speed. 0KB/s ~ 4KB/s. It's getting on my nerves how long I must wait to finish downloading a 100MB file. I looked up the forums and have deleted my .limwire folder, set my listen port to 12000++, and ticked the "Disable Ultrapper Capabilities". I suspect the reason of my slow download speed is because of the firewall, so I risked virus and deleted every anti-virus system I had, and disabled firewalls. Disabled expections for Limewire. Disabled firewalls for all types of connection, but all helped nothing at all.  1 month ago, everything was fine and I was downloading at over 50kb/s. This 1KB/s thing is pissing me off like crazy. I'd really appreciate if anyone can direct me to an answer to solve this stupid problem. Also, I think it's only me, that whenever I have Limewire running, my MSN keeps signing off and on, again and again. This doesn't stop until I shut down my limewire. Has anyone experinced this problem? My modem is a Linksys BEFW1154, Windows XP, 512 RAM. If you require more information, I'd be more than glad to provide them. Thanks.   |

| Take a look here about Starhub Singapore: http://www.filesharingweb.de/mediaWi...hrottling_ISPs And that's a comment of someone with similar problems, but in regard to some other file sharing programs: My isp in Singapore, starhub does the same thing as Cebridge. I guess its an international procedure now and most tiers are doing it. It doesnt matter if i use bittorent or not. My internet connection dies in some times of the day and sometimes for a good part of the day. The connection is just totally throttled. But when I lay off bittorent for awhile, I get blasting speeds again and then back to throttling after half a day. Like Ares said I guess. And isps are no longer throttling bittorent. I think they find it easier to throttle the whole connection of a person who USES his connection fully. My friend does downloading of movies from a paid site and blasted the isp tech personel coz he was not getting good http speeds. They unthrottled his connection but he had a good reason. PS. Encrypt ur ports and keep changing them every few days. It works with Starhub for most parts.

| As for now, there is no encyption option in LW, sorry. You could try to change your listening port in LW and add it to your fiewall exceptions. In LW go Tools>Options>Advanced>Firewall Config and change there the listening port to a higher number (like 64049, 65255, 47058 or something like this).
