the stats in the download pane are similiar to the stats in the library, but fundamentally different. the library counts the number of locations that we know and will send to uploaders who may upload a file from us. the numbers in the download area count the number of locations that we have read from the various downloaders (who, on their end, will have a number showing in their library). after the file is saved to the library, a certain amount of the alternate locations (depending on how recent they are, how many we already have stored or have removed because we couldn't contact, etc..) will be saved for future uploaders.

you may also notice a 'vendor' in the search results -- it's not as precise as the vendor in the download or upload area, but that's the way gnutella messages are designed, for bandwidth reasons. (right-click [or the mac equiv.] on the column header to choose the vendor column.)

i'm not quite a law intern, just a regular one who likes what he's doing.

there's a lot of other internal improvements from 2.9.4 to 2.9.5... mainly to help in debugging and provide a cleaner codebase for future improvements & current performance. the main goal of 2.9.5 (in my opinion) was to ensure that people recieve valid results for their initial search, which is arguably the most important thing in the current network.
