I agree- the days of charging $15+ for a CD with 2 good cuts are past. The music industry will adapt, probably by finding some way to market individual cuts over the net, or letting people purchase customized cd's.

A note for those who cry about copyright infringement- copyrights used to live for 50 years and die. Lobbying has extended that twice in hte last 20 years, to the point it is now 100 years, I think.

The greats, Louis Armstong, Marlene Dietrich, and others would be coming into the public domain now, except for this fact. I feel no shame for downloading their works.

(Oh, Ipost through a proxy- they have not captured my IP

In fact, I am pretty happy about the music-industry going down. Just think about the combination of "music" and "industry". There is something wrong here, isnīt it? I know some professional musicians and they all point out that they donīt work for the big money but for their art. Do you really think that the latest ***************-Hitsingle is the best possible music? Yet it is the most popular thanks to the massive marketing financed by the incredible sums the music-industry can allocate. So what will happen when the millions disappear? Well perhaps there wonīt be another Britney, but you might get to know some new musicians you never heard about before! What I am trying to point out here is:

There was music (GOOD music) long before there was even money, and there will be. So what could we possibly loose?
