Mods don't count and people who rant about how unregistered users flame here are off topic, so that doesn't count.
Unregistered users do not have the power to delete or edit posts. They also would NOT make good mods because it's obvious (like ursula) that they can't control their temper.
I wouldn't be a good choice for a mod either, but I know my limitations and wouldn't want the "power trip god status" anyway.

BTW, On Usenet you can't take your posts back, so you get used to better check your posts twice before sending them out. Let your posts speak for you.
Instead of quick sending out some unimportant comments or unqualified flames, you think before you write. I like it this way and there is always the posibilty to send a second post with an errata and additional information.
Of course trolls are trolls, with or without the possibility to edit.
