Gnutella Is Anonymous?

How can you say Gnutella is anonymous when Nullsoft, Inc. is a part of AOL/Time Warner? And, cookies are used? Am I missing something?

Nullsoft is no longer working on a Gnutella client, and Gnutella clients don't use cookies.

Gnutella is a nick name for the private network formed by people who run programs that talk to each other. Client programs are made by several people and companies, take your pick.
However, no one can say that "Gnutella is anonymous" because your IP is always available to the person you are transfering files from. Same problem with Napster and others. Many posts talk about this, feel free to read around the forum.
