Email access and responses

Needed: an easy way to access email, a tab or icon on the Limwire download heading bar would be great. I don't know how to access my email, and I DON'T get any replies from LimeWire.

Hi Your message is not very clear. Are you a Pro member and are trying to get in touch with limewire, or something else. Please explain.

Also this and your other post are in the wrong forum. Do not repeat them elsewhere but please take care where you post for future threads.

Thanks Hobo, I'm a Pro member, When I submit a question I get a response to check my LimeWire email for a response, aalso, if this is not the correct forum, which is

E-mail Client within LW

Computerhealth

Your request seems strange, your posting seem to suggest that you don't have an e-mail client, such as Outlook Express, AOL or something else.

I have always assumed that everyone that has access to the internet would automatically have some sort of e-mail software to send and receive e-mails, am I wrong or have I misinterpreted what you are asking for?

computerhealth ... you have Bob and I mistified now!

-------------------------This bit is not relevant ... I told you I was confused!------see below

I'm not sure how pro answers work, as I have neverasked for one. If a post is made to a forum I am subscribed to , or If I receive a PM (Personal message) from someone in the forum, I receive an E-mail. I read this in Opera, but could equally well read it in Outlook Express, AOL, Thunderbird, Apple Mail, or Entourage, to name but a few. This E-mail gives me a link to a web page, which I click and this will be where I can actually read the message.

A personal message is something different. This is an E-mail type message, but has the same appearance as a message posting , (like this) but is personal to you. To view your personal messages in The Gnutella Forums (which is where we are now) You go to User CP (above right)

Having gone off at that tangent, I realize Limewire will not send a message to the forums as they are not technically linked to Limewire, but I've said all this stuff already, I shall leave it:)
------------------------------------------------------------
Right ... In answer to your question: Limewire automatically respods to your question by, I presume, telling you that in due course you will get an E-mail from them and you should check your E-mail regularly in your E-mail client:-Opera, Outlook Express, AOL, Thunderbird, Apple Mail, Entourage or whatever, until it arrives, which may take a few days. I tend to share Bob's thinking that, perhaps you do not have an E-mail client, or at least not one set up ... could this be true?

A couple more things ... The correct forum would probably be Limewire>open, but don't try to continue the thread there because that will only confuse:)

http://www.gnutellaforums.com/forumd....php?forumid=7 Is the opening page for the Limewire forums and you can chose which of them will suit your query best.. Users should not use Beta forum unless they are tesing new untried versions called Betas.

An alernative way to receive e-mails is through a web based organisation like Yahoo or Hotmail (you can google to find them), but to view mails you need to visit a web page a bit like you do with these forums.

Your internet service provider should be able to guide you through setting thir own E-mail system for which you would need an e-mail address and password that they will provide.

I hope we understand each other a bit now... Let us know if this makes sense.

OK This is only a quickie .. You must have an e-mail account!!!!! I do not believe you can activate Limewire pro with out responding to an e-mail from them. So what ever means you used to respond to that e-mail you use to check for any other e-mails. End of my confused thoughts:confused:

computerhealth October 8th, 2005 10:12 PM

OK, thanks. The confusion to me was that I sighned up for LimeWire and al of a sudden it's now call Gnutella. I also thoght that responses were going to a limewire or gnutella.com type email and not to my personall one. Thanks and I won't bother anyone again. I'll figure things out for myself.

You have signed up for Limewire which is an application to enable you to use the Gnutella Nework (which can also be accessed by other applications)

You have not signed up for Gnutella These forums are for users ot the various Gnutella applications and Limewire is just one of them

I hope that helps:)

I suspect computerhealth might be confused between pro support & the forum. Pro support can be accessed here: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/support.shtml & click on the pro support. This forum is another avenue for help. Sometimes you'll get faster help here.

Gnutella forums is named after the network the programs use. This forum caters for many gnutella programs & Limewire is one of those. LW runs on the gnutella network.
