Why the Popup Ads in THIS Forum?

Anybody else sick of seeing that "ALERT!" popup !

My gosh, the POPUPS are obnoxious. This is the 1st Support Forum I've ever seen with POPUP Ads. I have no issue with the banner ads.

Or try the Proxomitron .
It's an HTML text-matching & replacing proxy .

It doesn't only stop the pop-ups but everything you can think of using HTML .

Get it here : http://proxomitron.org/
It's free ! No cost !
And I personally tested it for spyware , it's clean .

Things it can do "out-of-the-box" :

Minimize to system tray
ENCODE/decode MIME Base64 strings for auto-logins to sites
SSL-support ! Filter secured pages (Ir re-encrypts data after filtering, so absolutly safe)
Proxy server mode to hook up your entire home LAN with one copy running if you want to
Proxy rotation , swich between proxy servers , either random or if one goes down
make bypass and kill-lists to allow sites true or not .
Allow for frame resizing in framed sites
Kill Nosey JavaScripts , adjustable function
Disable JavaScript cookies
Hide Browser's Referrer from JS
Banner Blaster (by dimension and replaces with ALT-text)
Banner Replacer (replace the ad with your own image)
Area Map Ad Blaster
Kill java-based animated banners
Kill pop-ups
And restore them after the page loaded up .
OnUnload unloader (no pop-ups when leaving sites)
Frame Jumper-Outer (no more being trapped in someones frames)
Kill alert/confirm boxes when entering sites
Stop status bar scrollers
Kill Dynamic HTML JavaScripts (basicly only used on sites to push ads)
GeoCities branding killer (kill that annoying floating side-band)
Kill add-on JavaScripts (free hosts often attach junk to the end of a page)
Webpage Background Killer (customizeble option ; grab table backgrounds too if u want)
Webpage Background Replacer (provide your own background)
Sounds to links (lets you download them instead)
Embedded MIDI Silencer (god bless thisone)
Blink Buster (Blink to Bold , save some eyestrain)
Counter Killer
Link De-Obfuscator (shows the real urls instead of fake ones)
Anti-Auto-Refresher (real handy)
Wordwrap all form textboxes (makes up for sloppy coding)
Kill Style Sheets (but not individual tags)
Kill Layers (NS most useless idea ever)
Suppress all JavaScript errors (lot of sites with junk Java on them outthere)
Stop JavaScript Timers (affects status bar scrollers and ad-updating scripts)
Hide Browser's Version from JS (make them think you still use IE 3 or NS 3 or anything u want , Sites detect my browser as "Beercan 1.0" :D )
Hide Browser's Identity from JS
Kill window.external methods (sites can change your bookmarks and worse , this will prevent them)
Stop OnMouseOver events (kill fancy junk responding on your mouse movement and save time)
DeFramer (will give you the noframes version of a site if it exists)
Convert Frames to Links (Could even allow a non-frames browser to use a "frames only" site.)
****** to link (No more floating frames)
Table width unlimiter (removes fixed sizes)

And you can ad more filters yourself if you know a little HTML !

Pop-ups

Stop moaning like a bunch of old women! Web-Sites cost money to host and to develop...how would YOU suggest they pay for these forums?

Popups useless

Hi, i've not seen any popup.
With this topic, bub2000, KathW, and VTOLfreak have demostrated that such invasive type of advertising.

Personally, I prefer cool/soft/interesting banners. If some of them seems to bring something that I may need, I can click anytime. If I wan to support the forum, I can click on any of them.

I think this may be some way to solve the problem.
