Registration required everywhere?

I hope you don't plan to make registration required everywhere. (ie BS forum lock out)
Also, who gets to see my IP? I don't want to get DOSed if a wild moderator doesn't like what I have to say or doesn't like my political point of view.
Please keep this forum open and free!
Please don't give in to pressure from developers who want to control everything!

Only moderators can see your IP! A normal moderator can see your IP only in his forum, the three super mods and of course the admis (two) can see the IP in all forums!

I think this forum is free, you should try to post such things on other forums - I think they would delete it immediatly, I really donīt know what you are planing but it sounds that you are trying to hurt the gnet more than you help - I donīt like ad-aware too but I go a different way to help!

Which pressure? I think not that a developer can control on this side anything! CycloCide is the boss!

P.S.:

You fear DOS attacks from the mods but ask other people to post their IP in public? So its enough if you are safe?

This make no sense!

Registration is not that bad. You just make up a cool sounding name and then go over to hotmail and make yourself a fake email (that is hotmail's reason for being you know) and that is all there is to it. ;)

The BearShare forum makes you register first, and someone didn't want the Gnutella forums to follow suit.

Sorry I'm not a developer or advertiser and still i think that everybody that posting here should have to reg... Only my opinion.

I honestly can't see what all the fuss is about. It's not a big deal to register, it takes a couple of minutes. If you come often, it will be better for you as people here will recognise you and take your opinions more seriously (not that they don't now ;))

No one takes anyone seriously here anyway.

It's the cow principal, cows will herd together to the point if one jumps off a cliff so will all the others.
I'm not one to follow the herd or do what everyone else is doing and at the same time everyone else is doing it.
