Default It's stable on xp

I have serveral computers running Windows XP Pro 2600 - stable on all of them. Also, no gnutella client is going to get good speeds on 56k.

Cybot: In preferences ( alt-P) on the Network tab lower your upload speed limit to 2-3Kb/sec.

Gamer , your comment is not completely true. 56k users can enjoy and contribute just as much as anyone else to Gnutella. But just as with surfing the web, the bigger the pipe the better. - IMHO

Default It will work

yes, they can.. although the odds of a download ever getting above 3k/s are slim.

Well I have not been on a dial up connection for ages and neither have you gamer ( using gnutella) , but based on feedback 56K users can still achieve speeds over 5k/s more then you think. Dial-up services vary in quality though so that is also a factor.

Anyway my point here is simply that dial-up users can enjoy Gnutellanet and getting over 3k/s is Not slim as you stated.

Default I did too

Used Gnotella, LimeWire and Bearshare for over a year after napsters downfall on 56k.. Gnutella has improved since, but was a joke on 56k then.
