Question Computer crash

I've DL Xolox 1.18 Beta 3 and had it running. But when i'm downloading files, after 15 minutes or so, my computer crashes and it does that all the time.

I have a Compaq AMD-k7, 500 MHZ, 64 MB RAM (I know, not the newest computer).

Can someone help me? Can somebody give me advice, besides buying a new computer?

Thanks!

Is there any error message you get?

Try changing the temp directory where files are stored in Tools > Preferences > Download Tab.

No, i don't get any error message. It just crashes.

I already changed the temp directory, but that didn't help.

Anymore suggestions?

could it be that you do not have enough RAM for xolox to run with? I'm not positive what the actual spec is but i have 5 times unregistered's and I notice a huge system slow down when xolox runs. In the earlier beta's my computer crashed several times due to i think to much usage of system resources.

it might not be as you can get xolox up and running but it could be that the longer your online the more queries etc your computer has to deal with.

Unregistered I think in your case the problem is not enough memory ( RAM ) . If you have other programs running and XoloX chances are on a Windows system that 64mb of ram is long gone and you are using Virtual memory.

Have you tried running XoloX alone ( with all other programs closed) and does it still happen?

I did what you suggested and it worked.

Thanks.
