How does this work?
If I put 3 mp3 files in xolox's download folder on my comp and want the same files to show upon xolox search when other peoplz search for these files. I dont see it works so far. Since I used my friend's xolox-enabled computer and the 3 files never showed upon search. I tried it 3 weeks ago, 2, and a week ago. None-what-so-ever!!!!
Can someone explaine to me how it works maybe I do something wrong?????

ok a few questions first.

what directory do you have shared out? what does it say under tools>preferences>shares?

do you have a firewall or anything up?

how long did you let it look for? the full 3 weeks?

did you use the full file name? or just parts of it? and when you put the filenames in your search do you get others with the same file name or close to it come up?

the more info we get, the better we can help out.

But basicly, when you share out the folder on your system it might take a bit of time befor someone actually downloads from your system. the clients have to look through the host lists to find your system to link to.

The odds of somebody finding a file you and you alone have on the gnutella network are about 500mill to 1 [estimated].

If you want to send a file to a friend, use an instant messaging program. Examples:

-Aol Instant Messenger
-ICQ
-MSN Instant Messenger
-Yahoo! Messenger
-Paltalk
