Xolox 1.3 : Fails in Win2K 1 Attachment(s) ****** go here for build372 = oct.7th http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=16146 ******* ------------------------------------ Hey all, Trying to get 1.3 running under Win2K but cannot get it to start. Deleted all 1.22 files and cleared the registry. Install seems to work fine but program will not run. Attached is the error report from Dr. Watson. ** changed your error log to a download txt. |
Ok, i just was working with someone else that reported the problem. Seem's it's the file cnet is sending :(. Althought the same exact build... something is corrupt or it's not sending the complete file. Try using this one: www.xolox.nl/dl/xolox.exe edit: Please reply if this solved it |
KayaMan, Sorry, it failed too. I uninstalled the CNET version and cleaned the registry again and installed the one that I DL'ed from your post above. Exact same failure with the exact same error report. Any other thoughts? |
Damn, well thanks for the input. All i can do it pass the info on. As soon as i know more, i'll report back |
same problem... can I get 1.22 anywhere? Hi, I was using 1.21 but it's not connecting anymore. Upgraded to 1.3 and no luck, same problem as the others under Win2K. Read in other post that 1.22 works just fine. Anyone out there can forward that one to me please? Thanks |
Having the same issues with v1.3. Purged reg several times and DL'd like "electrobox". Still keeps coming up with: "xolox.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows"... blah blah blah. Any suggestions or v1.22 .exe would be greatly appreciated. Cheers |
1 Attachment(s) Ok, being the weekend and all I don't know when a new build will be out to solve whatever is happening with a certain % of XP/W2k users. We have not being able to produce these errors locally. I can offer this older build359 ( cnet = b369) that we *know* has errors when closing on some systems - but otherwise works the same. it may install fine for you...... Your welcome to try it: download here: |
Same issue here running XP sp1. Just got back on tonight as 1.3 failed to fire off. Reloaded the 1.22d version and logged into the forum and found the new info. FYI: Just used your 359 version and it runs without even a 'full install' - just copied the .exe file and fired it off for fun. Also, might be interesting to know that I have never edited the Registery keys since the install about 2 months ago (think it was 1.21) including using this 359 file. Have not closed the program but I'll cross that bridge... |
blh: so you had problems with 369, but not 359? This will help us determine which changes were made in the installer that may have caused this weird occurance with someone people. Anyone's feedback is more then welcome - we really want to get it right :) |
359 works fine for me. |
v1.3 issues w/W2K-XP Kayaman, Build 359 did the trick. Have had no issues as of yet. Many thanks. Will keep posting what I find. Cheers |
Dittto here. 359 runs and closes without any errors. XP w/ SP1 |
Alright, thanks for the feedback. I hope more people can respond and see if they can even produce a closing error with this build. |
ok, I was running the previous version, was asked to upgrade and did. The install completes asks to start the program and I click yes. It tries to open, but before the "xolox" screen comes up it closes down and the windows error everyone else gets goes up. I'm running 2000 proffesional. I think this build 359 may work...but how do I put it into effect? |
After several 359 build closures I have had NO issues! Saw your post on the front page but decided to post here to follow up on my previous post. PS: Yeah, 369 crashed the same as others have explained even the same error code string that someone on here copied down in full on one of the posts... |
build372 - october 7th |
Ok, I deleted all instances of xolox, cleared the registry, re-booted, then followed the link to dl build 359. When I install and run it, it comes up as build 372, and crashes with the "integer" error. Has build 359 been replaced with 372? Am I doing something wrong? Is my PC possessed? Win XP pro SP1 Zone alarm Pro Linksys router (like either of these two matter) Any suggestions? WW |
