waiting for 7 gigs of stuff...

I read somewhere that for XoloX to work properly you need double the space.... = 14 gigs of free space!

could this be the problem?

I also had a couple big files hang at 99% for a long time but eventually I got em.

Default tests

Hey Dark, Kali(everything just in case)spera....

OK - I tried the test last night and I can't draw any conclusions 'cos I couldn't find like-4-like files to download, nor could I find similar file numbers, nor can I tell what speeds are true because the line bulk is entered by the user and they aren't always true.

I need a sterile environment to make tests and this would mean other users placing exact same files on the different program products to do the test and I just don't know enough people to get it done.

All I can say is that they all worked well (but we knew that) and of the 4 I ran yesterdays night the worst performer was winmx (this is often true because of so many modem users - but it does have a lot of files on it which aren't on the others and it's very useful to keep running even at trickle rates) and best were xolox and morpheus which both produced me apporximately 3x40 megs over a test period of 3 hours between 01:30 and 04:30 gmt by which time I had fallen asleep (so this kind of invalidate the test anyway because I don't truly know when they finished because I woke at 4.30 to find 6 copies of 'the wall' on the server - sorry:-) )

Will try all this again next month when I am on nights again and I will try some yahoo / icq forums to see if I can arrange some sterile conditions. And buy some strong coffee:-)

Love, peace...

Jude

If your downloading a 10 meg file, it needs 20 megs total when it copies the downloaded pieces into the completed file

yes well if xolox needs 12 small pieces to complete the last 1% then it needs to find 12 open slots
