filestream error --> 1

Xolox rocked when i first installed version 1.09 However recently there are problems. For awhile I couldn't get a network connection. Now I get the connection but downloads aren't working and I keep getting this filestream error --> 1 in the status window. What does it mean? Is there anyway to get back to the simple, powerful Xolox I downloaded and loved 2 weeks ago?

Thanks much
killian

This problem began for me about 2 nights ago. I first had difficulty reaching the network and had to copy the hostslist. Then that transmuted into a constant connection error which transmuted into this Filestream error. My connection is a cable modem, no proxy, no firewall. I do not concurrently load other nutella clients but I do use others and have no problem with them.

I have also gotten this file stream error and also did not ever witness it happening until I downloaded the new hotlist and upgraded to 1.11, I downloaded 1.12 and this still did not fix the problem......I can not download anything and will be forced to use a different p2p program soon, although I love Xolox very much........please help us someone

XoloX doesn't have any enough-space left routine (yet).

Please remind that in some cases you need 2 times the available harddisk space for a download.
Don't try to download a 500 MB file with 700 MB free space.
Changes are big, that XoloX crashes.

I hope this clears it out.

Thanks for reporting this bug. I will surely look at it.

Available diskspace is not the problem......I have several gigs available.... I cancel all downloads....close xolox completely and restart...choose a download and it immediately gives me the filestream error....

Is everyone getting this or just cable modem users?

:(

Cable users unite !!

Update

latest update on the File stream error........

after moving all files and still getting error, I have just defragged drive.

No error and downloads have resumed, for how long that is another question.

Does any of this make sense Pasman? maybe xolox temp files too fragmented ?

Unregistered September 22nd, 2001 05:15 PM

i have been having this problem as well and i too defragmented the drive that i download from xolox to. i however have had no sucess. i also emptied the drive and then re-defragmented it, but this did not help. anyone else have an idea?

I have just checked my resumeinfo.txt file and tidied it all up,

ie making sure all locations are pointing to the big drive and that all job segments are present in the temp folder .

And Lo !! files completing, no filestream error ... stable system...

this is early days yet but check this one out !

best of luck

i dont have a resumeinfo.txt file or i am having trouble finding it....i tried the windows search and looked maually for it, but couldnt find it.... I am running version 1.2 and I dont think that it has this file. Xolox is still not running....but i am waiting patiently. :)

guru September 23rd, 2001 09:03 AM

Is there any reason why you are not upgrading to the latest version 1.12 ?

Samadhi September 23rd, 2001 08:47 PM

Filestream

So simple, I couldn't see the forest blah blah blah.......

Yeah, I checked my resumeinfo.....

I had to recreate the temp folder because apparently 1.12 won't make it.....

All is well.

To be clear

For anyone experiencing the file stream hopefully this will work.

I uninstalled the version I had. I then erased all the files in the xolox directory (templist, et al).
Then I downloaded 1.12 and installed it in the xolox directory.

I then created the folder .....xolox\temp\

and everything works beautifully.

I have tried all the fixes listed here no luck. What next for the filestream error?

nil September 28th, 2001 06:43 AM

create also a download rep in the xolox dir ex : C:\Program Files\XoloX\download ............

Hmmm. Seems in my case, the re-installation "forgot" to create the "downloads" and "temp" directories.

If you con't have 'em, make 'em and this should sort it out.
