converting to mp3

what is teh easiest way to convert cd tracks (.cda format) to mp3 fomat so I can share with other xolox user on teh network?

Just use Audiocatalyst 2.1, that's my favorite program to rip CD's. Just do a search for it on the network, I'm sure you'll get a few hits.

You need a ripper to get the audio data and a Encoder/Codec to generate the audio files. I use Audiograbber and LAME codec (for MP3) or OGG Vorbis codec (.OGG). Check the links below and don't forget to visit http://www.r3mix.net/
