Massive bandwidth use despite lower limit

I've been using Xolox for a couple of weeks, I like the program but the other night I installed Zone Alarm on my computer and saw the amount of data that was uploaded from my computer. The bandwidth was far over the limit I had set in preferences, I also hadn't checked the "use maximum bandwith..." box. Funny thing is there wasn't any visible uploads in the window. I've also had access violations trying to read some address. It was without doubt Xolox that caused the bandwidth use because when I turned Xolox off the uploading stopped and when I started Xolox again it started again. I know for a fact that it's not some defect in Zone Alarm cause I got the upload numbers when I disconnected to my ADSL provider. Any thoughts on the problem I'm having? Anyone experienced the same?

Bandwidth

Xolox just uses a lot of bandwidth, most of the faster share sites do. Also, the "use maximum bandwidth after 15 min." box does not work properly, and had been discussed before.
