some suggestion

Swapper is very nice, here are some suggestions for making it even better:

1. Calculate and print download rate and ETA for each download.

2. Save the position and size of Swapper's window (like most Windows program do).

3. Automatic firewall and speed detection.

I just added idea #2 in the 2.1.812 release that I just dropped about 10 minutes ago. I'll see about adding #3 and #1 after I finish solving the Windows 98 bugs.

great

Hi, I'm the original poster (Elad Tsur), you can post my name in the version history.

Swapper should see what the IP ve get from other clients (the Remote-IP header, and ofcourse to generate this header too), and advertise this as its IP *even if it is behind a firewall). Some clients (noteably Gnucleus and Morpheus) simply ignore hosts with internal IPs or 0.0.0.0 IP), and thus firewalled users don't get many hits.

#1 is not fully fixed

Hi,

I downloaded version 812, and now Swapper saves the size of the window, but not its position.

This is under Windows 2000, with the option to iconify to the taskbar turned off.

Thanks,
Elad

thanks for the pause/resume button more readily available. the program still will crash far too often for me to use it any longer.

it may crash if i search, crash if i double click to download a file or crash in the systray. never an error message, just shutsdown. i probably good use it to grab some files, but since i cannot keep the program running i don't want to disconnect uploaders.

running xp pro now, nothing else in the background...

Elad - I just found the proper way to do the initial start and location (rather than the kludgy way). That should be out in the first post 812 release.

Aeroe - I have a theory on the random crash. Please email me directly at swapper@jasonthomas.com so I can ask you a question.

downloaded 814

Now the placement is really saved.

Thanks!

Elad
