Scanning problem

My HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 2136 printer will not scan.

Print & Scan Doctor say they have found an error, being the printer out of paper.

They rectified the error, but still I am without my scans !

Many thanks beforehand for your help, which you always give me generously.
