Desktop Icons on the External Hard Drive

How to copy all my computer desktop icons on the external hard drive ?

I would like to copy them "en masse" (not one-by-one) on the external hard drive.

I would also like to copy them in alphabetical order, that is, in the same order as they appear on the desktop.

Thanks in advance for helping an 85-year-old civil service pensioner.
