Virus infection
 

I am getting viruses daily since I downloaded the beta version. I am using windows XP. Mostly the "I-worm/Mydoom.A" and something in the dfpwuh.htm file. Is anyone else getting these? My AVG software cleans them, but it's not preventing them. Any suggestions?

The only way you can get virusus off of LW is if you are downloading .exe files and so on. The MyDoom virus is mostly associated with E-mail. Caution is the best defense against getting viruses, you can't always rely on your anti-virus. I learned that the hard way. And, no I don't regularly get viruses.

The BEST way to protect you against the Mydoon worm is do NOT open your appendage... you should it only open from people you know!!!

Keep your Windows and Outlook up to date, there are several security holes.

And of coorse keep your virus scanner up to date!

I got it two times! It seems my friends are watching their computer better then yours. The Mydoom virus sends automatically an E-mail to all people which are in your address folder - so your options are change your E-mail client or kick your freinds in the *** and tell them to clean/watch their PC!

AFAIK E-mail is the only way and only for Outlook users! All others "should" be safe, but should always think before they open anything that they don´t know!

It does not (necesarilly) have to do with Limewire. MyDoom, AKA Novarg, is one of the most spreaded virii EVER. I got it several times myself, and it was eliminated by NAV.
