I don't believe there's one player that does all, especially when it comes down to viewing incomplete files.
But I can view allmost any file with these three:
*Windows media player (make sure you have the latest codecs)
*AVI preview
*VLC media player

The most better players should play all videos. Usually there are missing codecs if you have problems to play them.

Number 4 should be enough, if not look in the description which ones are missing and download them.

I managed to view with Windows Media player all videos and I downloaded a lot...

You're right about VLC. May not be the absolute bestest player in the world, but between that, Quicktime and Win Media Player, I'm pretty much set up for all types of video. A question about Win Media player. Where do I get more codecs for it, and where do I put them. Oh if it seems a confusing question I am on a Mac.

and...

... There is always Nimo...

Click on the link in my sig.

Be sure to read the info BEFORE you install... There are probably 2 codecs that you do NOT want to install.
Also, remember that if you do any updates via M$ your codecs will be altered and you will want to re-install the codecs from Nimo...
You may do so with individual codecs, but it is easier to simply re-install everything that you wanted in the first install.

For codecs, visit the links given by Morgwen and Ursula
And where to put 'em, Just install, your player will find them (in Windoze that is).

A handy tool to check your videofiles is GSpot
(Finally found it :D)
Sometimes people just rename non video files, GSpot will tell you what file your dealing with and if it is video with what to play it.
But as often, not for Mac.....I'ts a Windoze world you know;)
