How do you convert limewire files so they can be played on a CD player?

How do you convert them? I think limewire is amazing...just the fact that all the music I download is in MP3 form really, really sucks. Can I get some help? (Please don't use some other language that only a computer nerd can understand)

Hiya...

(notmysticks, huh ? ;) )

I moved your post here to the Tips & Tricks forum because it is not really a LimeWire issue or thing...

And, please tell us what you have for
a computer
the Operating System
CD-ROM type of drive(s)
and loads more !

In order to transfer an .mp3 file to a CD that will play in 'normal' CD players, you must convert the .mp3 file into a different format generally called .wav
Then you need to burn the .wav file(s) to a CD....

The type of CD you need to do the burning will depend on what type of CD-ROM drive that you have...
Different drives have different 'abilities'...
Some can burn to nearly all types of currently available CDs meant for burning.
The main differences between the CD-ROM drive types is whether or not they can record to CD-R/W disks or only to CD-R type...
CD-R/W means basically, 're-writable' (you can 'format'/erase it and use it again). CD-R means recordable - One time only.

Speed is also important in terms of what type of disks will actually work in your drive(s)... The latest high-speed disks will NOT work in older drives.

You need other software in order to do the file type conversions and the burning.
Some programs do all of the steps separately and are really only for the more experienced...
Other programs have many functions and, to varying degrees of success, are actually easy to use to do all that you want.

This is not a subject that can be covered in a few short posts where all will be revealed !!!

The first step that I normally recommend to people who are really new to all of this is to
install Musicmatch Jukebox...
There is nothing else available of even remotely equal all-around quality and ease of use.
But, it is for Windoze only.

Now, for the counter arguments about that last bit...

(What about notmysticks?)

Umm...for a computer I have a MultiSync (I think...that's what it says on the monitor ) Windows XP, and Nero burning thingy *nods* Rightio... Is there anything you can do to convert the files without software?

Yes, but first they themselves must want to change ! :p

It has been suggested that a serious session with missionaries may also be attempted.

However, if you want to do the burning of your files within a reasonable time it is probably better to use software !

Sure wish you'd try out Musicmatch Jukebox first... A LOT easier to do all of it when you are just starting out.

Right...try not to use remarks that I can't understand. Plain and simple.
Now that I have Musicmatch jukebox...how do I convert my limewire files? And will the ones on the jukebox download as .wav files?

ursula April 8th, 2004 04:03 PM

Take it easy...
I haven't exactly dumped any rocket science on you yet, hmmm ?

Read here for more >

and, more specifically >

AND... AND, look in Musicmatch Jukebox for the Help files...
Both within the software that you downloaded and is now on your machine and also at the User Guide section of the MMJ site...

C U Later... Happy reading !

Peerless, I don't think we are quite ready for Nero just yet...

lildrummergirl April 8th, 2004 04:05 PM

Man! Musicmatch costs money! Screw that. Peerless, since you seem to be of some help without advertising anything, if I make it as an audio CD, will it change them to .wav files?

ursula April 8th, 2004 04:16 PM

All yours, man...

Take it away, Peerless !!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

Be gentle when you mention that Nero costs also ...

lildrummergirl April 8th, 2004 04:51 PM

I already have Nero, thank you. I'm just saying, by bother downloading another program that's gonna take up space and cost money when I already have one to build on.
The remarks aren't appreciated, ursula. I just wanted some help

I need help with Nero as well. I am very familiar with Nero, have been using it for a number of years. I recently started using limeware again and having issues creating CD's via Nero. When i choose the folder that I have designated Limewire downloaded MP3's to go to, they are not there and cannot be dragged into the compilation window in Nero. I burned a CD of limewire downloads, but had to use Winblows Media player to do it. I much prefer Nero. I do not want to download Music Match jukebox. Any suggestions?

RaaF April 25th, 2004 08:24 AM

First, use Windows search to find your MP3 files.
Then start Nero, choose Audio CD, and click Add, browse for your MP3's and make a compilation.
You might want to normalise all audiofiles so that there isn't to much volume difference, click next and burn, but as Peerless mentioned do not use max speed to burn.

i heard that if i download itunes i can convert my files from limewire to mp3 files is that possible?

Lord of the Rings June 17th, 2009 06:48 AM

Yes, iTunes can convert to AIFF or WAV format. iTunes can also burn CD's. :) For converting, the option is in preferences -> import settings to change format. Then select the song, go to Advanced menu & choose Convert to ...
For burning, create a playlist of songs you wish to burn.

limewire to cd

I went in to limewire and set all my downloads to go to windows media player instead of using limewires player, then burn from there

Drivhardd July 12th, 2009 04:30 PM

converting limewire files

If you download mp3 files you dont have to worry about converting:)

Lord of the Rings July 12th, 2009 04:32 PM

Another way you can do it with WMP is ... http://www.gnutellaforums.com/downlo...tml#post345819 :)

I am not sure, bur you can try commercial spam, it can convert and burn any videos and audios to Audio CD, MP3 CD, MP3 DVD, such as mp3 to CD, etc.

Any of you 'doods' remember how to remind the people that there are NO 'LimeWire Files' (except for the LW Program installation files, of course).

No files exclusive to BearShare or LimeWire or Phex or uTorrent or any other client.
What is so stressful about always reminding people that the files are from all of us, and never ever from the client application?
Pedantic, maybe, but always important to explain.
