network value is worthless

According to LW, I have access to about 50,000 files. According to Kazaa, I have access to 1.6 million files. So how is LW better than Kazaa? I have 23 downloads partially received, none have updated since original request and download began last week. Also, why are my downloads and uploads always 0 or 1 KB?

An ability you have with LW that you don't with, say Morpheus, and like Soulseek, you can chat with the host direct (if available). If you are DL a lot of files or a real big one send a message (POLITELY) asking if they can boost their UL speed. Many people will set the DL to max or over and then set the UL intentionally low for several reasons, significantly those with Jurassic Modems need all the open pipe they can get. Many with DSL/Cable (or better) don't know that they can leave their UL speeds as high as 35kbps without the slightest decrease in their DL speed. You just have to play around to find a happy medium. Unfortunately others don't want to share but try to appear as though they do and set their UL to .00000000005kbps just so technically, they say they share. Unlike Morpheus, you don't have to leave LW open for the rest of your life to continue your DL. Leaving it open as much as possible allows you to of course share more often but also to reconnect when the host comes back. Personnally, I do all I can to avoid Kazaa. I used it infrequently for about a year and despite very good AV got stung real bad. Most of the time the files were never what they said they were or incomplete. SS & Morpheus are good but LW really seems to combine the best of both and I really do think the peers are a little more friendly and willing to help out with advice, files, etc. Sure there are some real chowderheads out there but it can be a lot worse! Any major movie, application, etc that claims to be full or complete and is less than 20,000 KB is 99.99% not so. As a benchmark, most current movies are 600MB+ in size (unless it is a torrent redirect - if you want more info ask or look for a cat named PEERLESS on the BB he had some good torrent info the other day). Hope this helps and also know that there are thousands of us that "suffer" with the little brained idiots on this and other P2P's who perpetuate incompletes and mis-titled files... It is a price you have to pay until LW comes a long with a scheme to cut this stuff down (don't hold your breath). Best Of Luck
