Video download Just joined recently and had no problems in dowloading audio but after I spent several hours downloading some movies (avi-mov-and mpeg) I had problems. I have all the players. Real, etc but the only one that would even start and play was mpeg. On the other 2 I got a msg. "Bad data in AVI source file". Where could the problem be? Thanks in Advance |
Which player shows the error message? What are the other players saying? How many videos did you try? Morgwen |
Downloaded 4 different videos. PC selected REAL PLAYER for two (2)AVI. This is where the messages about "Bad Data" came from. QuickTime was used for MOV. Started briefly but quit . Said it encountered a problem and had to quit. Real player used for MPEG. Played but LOUSEY IMAGE. |
The videos might be broken but I donīt think so... http://www.divx-digest.com/software/nimo_pack.html download Nimo`s codec pack and install it and then try it with your Windows Media player if it doensīt work post which message ou get. Btw Real player sucks and Quick time have problems with a lot of videos, its really the first time that microsoft has done a good job here. Morgwen |
MORGWEN, Still having problems. I went to the site and downloaded the DVX v9 but when it completed it said that it could not trust a "Cabinet file" and would not continue. I tried it twice. I don't know what the problem is. There are a couple of things I downloaded previously, "DivX Player" and "DivX Movie". I don't know if these are helpful but I wanted to mention them. Thanks GaReb |

Not sure who/what activated the message but I downloaded from the file you sent me and saved it to the Desktop. I then opened the DXWEBSETUP and it installed approx. 8 MB and at the end the error msg appeared and cancelled the install. |

http://www.divx-digest.com/software/nimo_pack.html Or try this one: http://www.codec-download.com/module...download&cid=6 About the error message this is really crazy, what stands at the end of the proggie you tried to install? I mean cabinet files have .cab and are compressed files used by Microsoft. Morgwen |
Another way to get to NIMO is to click on the Nimo Codecs link in my sig below... or http://nimo.titanesk.com/ Then, just click on 'Download' I would very strongly suggest that you only Download Build 8... Unless you are very aware of what you are doing, do not use Build 9... Be sure to 'Save' the file and not 'Open' it... You will want to have a copy of the Nimo installer so that you can run it again if you ever make any upgrades to Windows Media Player (Required). READ THE INSTRUCTIONS carefully before you install... Pay particular attention to the files: TFM Audio Filter v1.0 beta 7 Morgan Multimedia Stream Switcher 0.95 G400 Filter Bicubic Resizer Filter It is 'best' to do the "Custom Install", select ALL Codecs and then MANUALLY deselect the above four files Nimo is great and it is almost certain that you will be able to play just about anything... Last tip... You may want to answer "Yes" to having a Desktop Icon... And... There is nothing for you to do after you have run the install properly... Nothing for you to "Set Up" ! Have Fun... |
