What type of player to use

I downloaded a file edit file type:mpg
What type of pler do I use to view this file?
I have Xp Home and DSL-Is that all you need to help me?
I appreciate your time

Xp has a plaer. The Windows Media player and its a good one, you will sure need some codecs:

Download and install the nimo´s codec pack and click on your file and it should work, btw its also wise to keep your OS updated...
