All hail Microsoft |
I found the best way to take it is to shut the damn firewall OFF. Works for me. Isn't Microsoft grand!!!??? (tongue in cheeck) Regards. |
I still can't connect despite everything .. I can't connect despite following setup in regard to ports, etc. I have Windows XP |

Oddly enough all my internet programs are added as exceptions on the Windows Firewall. But, since installing it, i don't get hacked ... as much. |

I have McAfee Personal Firewall, which is wonderful, no "in loco parentis" behavior. McAfee advises turning off SP2, and even has a neat little demo on how to do this. It seems a little silly to dl & install something which doesn't play nicely with the rest of the software, then have to turn it off. So I never installed it. So far I haven't been successfully hacked. McAfee is set to "tight security", and limewire gets through, np.:D Quote:

get this, My computer wont let me shut off the dam thing! I wanna scream! I cant use Limewire cause it wont connect!!! |
buddah, If LimeWire keeps restarting on it's own, then it's prolly a virus. See this thread: WARNING: Viruses on network you should be aware of!. See point (4), and then check out the link to Norbies World at the bottom of the page. |
