If so (and I'm asking any OS X whizz kid out there) is it possible to fiddle with the burner software/drive/whatever so that it won't burn?
Anyways, try burning something besides a DVD (a data CD for example onto a CD RW) to see if it works.
If it does, try putting the thing in a CD (as data CD) and get it back home, then burn it from there (if you have the necessary equipement, that is; and I'm not talking about lighters and matches ...)
