If you have a dvd-rw burner, it's generally wise to trial whatever you're doing on a rw disk 1st. You haven't supplied us many details as to your OS version, file types you're dwnlding, conversion & burn process & apps you're using. perhaps you can have a look here: http://www.videohelp.com/

What kind of DVD burner do you have? Some drives only write to DVD+R/W some only write to DVD-R/W, some write to both. Generally DVD +/- RW media is more expensive, but can be rewritten many times. And make sure that you NEVER try to write a Dual Layer disk, in a drive that doen not support DVD+/- R/W DL.

If they do, the chances are that they will only have one opportunity to do so ! Then, back to the store for that new drive, huh ? How's my grammar ?

Exactly! I've heard too many stories of people choosing abilities; be it speed or disc type, that were beyond their burner's (or disk's) abilities & stuffed their burner up. Only good then for creating coasters. Hey want a drink. Time for an animation???? I couldn't be bothered. An oldie; hey it was my 1st flash effort using 3 anim techniques & all of 2 yrs ago! Now where'd that drink get to. lol What's it doing on top of the monitor! How'd it get there! Oh! Sitting on the coaster of course!!! lol Be sure of what you're doing when you burn dvd's. You don't want to stuff your device by using the wrong type of media or settings.
