How to default to Quicktime audio file format?

I have been downloading successfully for over a year & all my audio files defaulted to Quicktime. All of a sudden my files are coming across as generic mp3's (looks like MusicMatch icon) and prompts my system for an application to open it in!!! Total pain. How do I make Quicktime the default file format for audio downloads????
