Sharing with i-tunes - help please?

Excuse the obvious inexperience please....

I have checked as many forums as possible for some simple guidance to no avail... I have successfully been able to use LimeWire to download etc and am rather enjoying the experience, however the one thing I am having bother with is sharing the files with i-tunes.

Having found all of the other posts on this I have as far as I'm aware exhuasted all possibilities regards to what could be wrong, but if some kind soul would maybe like to help....:o

I don't understand what your problem is. WHich operating system do you use?

If you're refering to iTunes sharing of music you can find explanations under your iTunes Help menu. Quote: If your computer is connected to any other computers over a local network (LAN) and you're using iTunes 4.5 or later, you can look for music that's being shared by those computers and have it appear in your Source list.
ie: you can use playlists from other computers on that network. This does not apply to sharing across p2p on the Gnutella Network. However, in mac OSX's (not sure about windows version) preferences/options you can enable LW's music to be shared across the LAN in the same way. Search DAAP on the forum.

If you're refering to sharing iTunes' music across the Gnutella network, then it's just like any other file you share. You're simply sharing iTunes music library with other people so they can dwnld their choice of songs. You can choose which of iTunes music you wish to share by just adding those folders of music you'er willing to share. eg: Mr Smith (artist)>no.1 (album name) I hope you make sense of that.

Thank you kindly for your response and sorry to have bothere you with such a basic query.

I was referring to how I get my downloaded material from LimeWire to I-tunes, I have managed to do so, by saving playlist elsewhere, however despite this when I'm deleting files from Lime Wire they then cannot be found on i-tunes again as the original source is not available. As I'm using the windows version the preferences option you refer to is unavailable. So sorry, but completely lacking in knowledge!!

Unfortunately the windows version will not import the songs automatically like happens in mac OSX. What happens in the windows version is a playlist is created within iTunes called Limewire. But this is purely a reference to the mp3's in LW's dwnld folder. So you would need to manually import them into iTunes. See this for instructions on how to add songs (using Control & O keys): http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/...ial/index.html

sharing Limewire with iTunes

I found the answer for Mac OSX. In iTunes you
Go to FILE>Add to Library then locate what you want to import.
