I'm of course a newbe and am not sure where i need to go. I have downloaded what i thought to be a movie and it doesn't play as a movie. I have read for hours now and am not sure how this works. please guide me in the right direction. I would like to know how to download games and movies and then play them.

- What size is the movie (File) ?
- Are you playing the movie in DiVX Player?
- What extention does the file have? E.G. .avi .mp3 .ram .exe etc...

Movie download

The size appears to be 91.1KB. I highlighted the download and then clicked on the launch tab on the bottom of the screen. Then Windows Media Player came up. Then it started to play an advertisement from www.clearoutclub.com. The answer to your last question is WMV.

Thanks for your help.

If the file is 91 Kb there is no way it can be a movie. Ergo, you will never be able to see it. Usually, movies are over 500 MB big.

What else could you expect from a small wmv file but spam. Advertisements. Good old M$ & their trusty security formats - the very 1st video format to become possible to be affected with virii. Good on you M$ for being so diligent with your well tested & thought out softw & any/every thing else you do. lol :D

Thank you for your reply!

Ok, so if i wanted to download a movie or a game, what should i be looking for? Should i be looking for 500MB or higher? What about KB? please explain.

Thanks again

Games are liable to be 100's of KB.

To convert to KB: multiply MB by 1000 ;)
