Saved files added to iPod become empty after iPod update!

I joined MyMusic.com yesterday and paid for a lifetime membership. After spending hours searching, downloading, and saving files, after sending the files to my iPod all the songs in every saved file but the very first saved file somehow vanish. Why have the songs in the first saved file remained yet all the others have vanished. The files upload to my iPod without any trouble but when but during the following "update" I get a message that certain songs could not be updated beause the files could not be found. When I open the files to check the songs the files are empty!
I'm running Windows XP Home and the latest version of LimeWire. What the heck am I doing wrong? Needless to say I am very frustrated over the hours wasted. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ... Thanks!!!

You know don't you that MyMusic.com is a scam site! See http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...5&pagenumber=4

You paid your money for what - the free version of Limewire (- no not Lime wire.)

Or perhaps you can tell MyMusic.com to set up their own forum. lol

Search iPod on the forum.

For windows you'll need to add the songs to LW's library 1st. You can drag & drop them from LW's downld folder onto the iTunes app. This will physically add them to iTunes own library. LW's downld folder can be found out by going to LW's menu Tools>Options>Saving. For immediate access go to LW's Library window & click on Saved Files folder & again on any file to the right of it. Then press the Explore button & this folder will open up for you.

I just somehow deleted half my post before posting it. lol The LW Playlist within iTunes is purely a reference to the files in LW's downld folder. iPod will require that music exists within iTunes library. So, use the above technique or try this & tell me if it works: go to iTunes menu & select Advanced & scroll down to Consolidate library. This will copy all of iTunes playlist music to its own library. I've never tried this with LW's playlist in iTunes but it should work. Tell me if it does.

I know one other technique that does work is to go select your Saved Files folder within LW's Library window & add (Enqueue button) them to LW's playlist within LW. Then save this as an m3u type file. Then use the import command within iTunes to import this playlist. Then consolidate the library. This definitely works but is a sloppy way of doing it!

Thanks!!!!! I'll give it a whirl!

I tried the consolidation method and it works but I agree, it is sloppy. Will try the drag n drop method next ...
Thanks again ... I now feel better about falling for the mymusic scam! At least I can get my downloads to stay on my iPod! :-)

I actually gave you 3 techniques. (1.) Of course the drag & drop.
(2.) Consolidate iTunes to see if the limwire that appears within iTunes playlist will copy its files to iTunes library folders.
(3). Create a playlist(s) within LW & export that as an m3u file. Import that file as a playlist & then consolidate iTunes. This way (& technique (1)) definitely works but I'm curious to know if technique (2) will also work. I'll try it myself in several hours to see if it does. Else you can try it & get back to us.
