how to save music files when pc upgraded?
 
i want to upgrade my lowly pentium3 + get new system but how to save all my music files? i have no hardware to burn cds, can only save to floppys - can i zip them somehow?
i don't have a zip/unzip program either, r there any reliable freebies?

Are you upgrading or getting a whole new computer? If you are getting a new computer you should just network the computers and transfer the music files from one to another. If you are upgrading, do you plan on replacing the hard drive? If not then you don't have any problems, just put the old HDD in the new/upgraded computer. More specific information would make it easier to help you.

Zipping doesn't make a huge difference on most types of graphic files. Be that audio, video, images ...

Cd-rw if you have one. Otherwise deepblue's networking is a much better idea. Certainly much faster.

thanks deepblue, i'm going to get new pc so network idea good- what cable do i need to get/ where to connect cable + do i need to make new pc part of a network w a program or will it happen from when i connect the cable?

Your first step should be to Google for a windoze (or whatever OS you have) network setup guide. With a little searching you should be able to find out everything you need to know. Good luck.
