Hi, I am sure that this is probably addressed somewhere in the forums, but I have been reading the better part of the night and day and still can't figure out the answer to my question.
I just purchased and downloaded limewire pro yesterday. Already I have downloaded quite a few songs (thank you all so much for having them) and am having a problem with my computer totally freezing up solid several times an hour.I have done all of the things that I have noted here in the forums to preven this, but it is still freezing. Anyway, my question is this: do I have to keep both librarys (with identical files) in my computer in order to share them, or may I delete one or the other and the other members still be able to upload from me? I want to share all of the wonderful music I am downloading, but don't see the sence in having two identical librarys full. Thank you in advance for any help, assistance, and information provided. |

In LimeWire go to tools options saving and see waht loacation your saving to. Remember/right down location. The I LimeWire go to tools options sharing and see what the location of your sharing file is remember/write down location. It might already be the same. If so it is saving and sharing in the same folder. If not you can go back to saving and enter the location of sharing folder to save to. Both folders should be the same them.
A moderator will probably move this thread to the proper forum location.

Thank you for answering me. However, I think I must not have been clear enough on what I was asking.
Do the songs that I download HAVE to be listed in both the shared and the saved folder, or may I delete them from one or the other (to try to free up sources in LW) and still be able to share my downloads with other members? I have a bad freezing problem and was hoping that if I could dump them from one list or the other that it might help. I have tried all of the other tips and tricks that I found in the forums and I still have a BAD freezing problem. Thank you once again.

I guess what I was trying to say is that if your save to location folder is the same as your sharing folder location it is the same folder. As soon as you complete a download it will be immediately shared for uploads. One folder no need for a second folder with identical files.
I use 2 different locations so that I may be able to preview the dowloaded files to make sure they are what I wanted ( not mistitled and totally different and unexpected) and of good quality then tranfer them, so only good quality files are uploaded. But I think this answers your question better
