need help moving files to another computer

I have 2 computers, I download in our living room on our laptop. I have a shortcut on my computer in my room where I can access the laptops local C: so I can take all the music store it on there and move it to our I Pods. Now so far this has worked great with Win MX but Win MX does not work as well as I would like. When I go to copy these files it tells me, ERROR: Make sure files are not a complete cd or make sure files are not in use. I have tried taking them 1 at a time samething happens. I have WIN AMP and Limewire on the laptop, and I have I Tunes and WIN AMP on the PC in the other room. It is all run through a Linxus router, I can turn on I Tunes on my computer and see all of the music but cannot get it on my Computer I did this so we do not have to flood the laptop with music but now here it sits. If anyone can help I would appreciate this more than you could ever know. Normally I would not bug you but the guy who built my computers is on vacation in Hawwaii and thats far away. All I am trying to do is copy the music from one C: drive to another and its not letting me, whats up with that?

No you didn't post it in the right spot. This is Tips & Tricks section & caters for general issues not specific to any Gnutella client app. such as BS or LW, etc.

If your 2 computers are networked then it should be easy & very quick. But since you're only connected as far as a router goes, have you tried iTunes sharing of music? I'm not totally sure whether that also allows for copying or just for playing the playlists of each other's comp. Oh & whilst I think of it, you're not on a lan anyway so that perhaps wouldn't work.

If you have ethernet cards on both then why not network them directly. Or burn the songs to a cd-rw/dvd-rw.

Another thought is if you can see the playlists from the other computer, then why not add them via importing the playlist & then consolidating them using iTunes.
