dvd-r
just bought a new dvd re-writer. not sure how to fit it, do i need other programs such as dvd clone and file shrinks?

hahaha depends why you bought your burner. Sounds like you bought it with the sole purpose of copying dvd's. I bought mine for both backing up (after one of my HDD's died & had a hell of a time backing everything up) & also to create my own dvd's for both personal stuff & commercial sale from full quality digital & analogue video sources, & using professional video & dvd authoring & editing tools.
